Hot on the heels of our very successful September release comes this remarkable album by German sound designer Dominic Razlaff (DR). Razlaff has been producing music since 2007 and his works have appeared on labels such as Petroglyph, Sgustok Music and Post-Global Recordings. His latest album is a collection of minimal tracks titled after the primary sound processing technique employed in its shaping. Convolution Reverb was pioneered in the late 1990s and involves simulating the acoustic properties of physical spaces using impulse responses. When producing these pieces, Razlaff would play instruments such as melodica and ukulele, recycling the recordings as impulses for the reverb. The end result is a set of both enigmatic and profoundly moving drones — melancholy, starkly beautiful and as intimate as a time-worn living room.
